The design-and-build process, step by step

From the first conversation to the keys, here is how a Perrem project actually runs, and why having design and construction under one roof changes the experience.

Building a home is one of the bigger things most people do, and not knowing what happens next is half the stress. Here is the path a Perrem project follows, start to finish.

1. The first conversation

We start by understanding how you live, what you value and what your site allows. No obligation, no pressure: a genuine discussion about whether we are the right fit for your build.

2. Concept design

We turn the brief and the site into a concept: the plan, the form and the feel. This is collaborative and iterative, and because we build what we draw, the concept is grounded in what is actually buildable on your block and budget.

3. Design development and approvals

The concept becomes detailed drawings, and we run the approvals in-house: development application, construction certificate and bushfire assessment where required. Handling this ourselves means fewer delays and fewer surprises.

4. Construction

Our own team builds the home, managing every trade, timeline and quality checkpoint. Because the builders were part of the design, they understand the intent behind every detail, which means fewer variations and a result that matches the original vision.

5. Handover

We hand over a finished home, not a list of things to chase. Clear communication the whole way through means you always know where your project stands.
