This project’s mission was complicated, but clear: mirror the curve of the beach that the property overlooks. With an existing two-storey brick home, we undertook the meticulous design and renovation process, marrying the existing structure with new design, while allowing the sea breeze to flow effortlessly through the home.
To transform the façade, we incorporated three large Vitrocsa sliding doors that run on curved tracks, drawing the sea views directly into the living spaces, which allows the outside environment to serve as a piece of living art.
Inside, Venetian plaster walls create a refined, textured backdrop that enhances the home's aesthetic. The floating fireplace serves as both a focal point and a conversation piece while adding a modern, yet cosy touch to the living space. Rich earthy tones are found throughout, accentuated by rich wooden flooring and cabinetry with pops of colour across tiling, furniture and the stunning freestanding olive tub.
Outside, there is a minimalistic and mid-century charm to the building’s design, characterised by its rectangular forms and the retention of the original features, such as the brick work. The balcony provides a further setting to enjoy sea views, again adding to the beach house feel of this project.
